Professor Jakob Brøchner Madsen holds the Xiaokai Yang Distinguished Chair in Economics at Monash University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences, held a highly prestigious Australian Research Council Professorial Fellowship from 2011 to 2015, is an Associate Editor of European Economic Review, and is ranked as #422 in the World in RePEc based on his publications over the past 10 years. Professor Madsen has held previous professorial positions in Finance and Economics at Brunel University, London, and the University of Copenhagen.

 

Professor Madsen is a leading researcher in the area of empirical modelling of long-run economic growth, the macroeconomics of stock and house prices, and the macroeconomics of inequality as recognised by his numerous publications in leading journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Economic Growth,European Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, the Economic Journal, Journal of International Economics, Journal of Economic History, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Southern Economic Journal, the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Oxford Economic Papers, Scandinavian Journal of Economics, the Canadian Journal of Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Economics Letters, Explorations in Economic History.

Yongding Yu (born in Nanjing, China) is an economist in Chinese Academy of Social Siences. In August 1994, he graduated from the department of economics in Nuffield College of Oxford University and became a doctor. He serves as director, researcher and PhD student advisor of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and President of the Chinese Society of World Economy.

 

From July 2004 to July 2006 he was a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China. His academic expertise is world economy and Macro-Economics. Since 1995, he has started to enjoy a special allowance awarded by the State Council. In 2005, he won the “Overseas Returnees’ Achievement” prize.
